Description

Document available in https://ftp.osmocom.org/docs/latest/osmux-reference.pdf

It seems it's missing the plot/chart in section 4.3 "Trunking and Batching".
I'm sure it used to work at some point (I did it).

First: check if building locally generates the chart correctly
Second: check why generated pdf from jenkins doesn't include the chart (most probably missing dependency on program used to generate it).

  • Project changed from libosmo-netif to OsmoBSC

moving to osmo-bsc project as this is where the manual is generated.

I suppose this is not about the mscgen ladder diagram of section 4.3 (Trunking and Batching), as that is present in the PDF rendering. However, the pychart of section "Evaulation: Expected traffic savings" is missing from the PDF. Instead it simply shows "osmux-reference__8.png".

In my local execution on debian unstable it works. I suppose the problem is that the builds slaves don't have pychart [or related dependencies] installed.

Using the generated SVG image now (see patch for reasoning): https://gerrit.osmocom.org/c/osmo-bsc/+/16503

It shows up in the PDF again: https://ftp.osmocom.org/docs/latest/osmux-reference.pdf
