opencomponent carrier USB hub

Description
It would be usefult to have a component carrier module containing a USB hub.
Given the kind of chips available, a 7-port hub might be a good option, possibly based around the USB2517.
One key feature for a lab setuo would be per-port downstream power switching, so the hub should definitely not use ganged power switching. This allows downstream devices to be physicall power-cycled.
USB3 would ofcourse be nice in theory, but it adds a lot of design complexity (more traces, more signal integrity requirements) and cost (chip, more layers on PCB). Most setups in an electronics lab setup where one wants to access peripherals like e1-tracer, osmo-clk-gen, USB-UARTs etc. don't need USB3 speeds. So I guess USB2 / high speed is more realistic at this point.
