Description

Hello, I tried to make a board from sfp_experimenter. I put the DNP resitor, because the signal at OUTPUT of LVDS convertor was zero. Now, I have another problem, I transmit a square signal from the generator and all is good, but when I don't transmit a signal, at the receive, I found some signal noise, with frequency between 20MHz and 300MHz.

you'd have to check what happens at the spf rx differential output. If that already contains the "noise", then there's nothing the differential receiver on the sfp-experimenter board can do. it will simply convert anything (including "noise") from differential to single-ended.

you could also try with some other type/brand SFP modules, if you have several available.

SFP modules don't work at DC.
You always need to modulate your signal somehow.
