7-E Communications Ltd. "Talking Head" video reporter (8120-AC)¶
Portable videophone in a rugged case by 7e / Motionmedia
H.320 single BRI ISDN interface allowing calls at 56, 64, 112 or 128kbit/s.
Apparently it was marketed for TV news frontline reporters.
The terminal comes in a rather high spec'd case that would have been water tight until the unit had been screwed into it from the bottom.
The terminal looks like it would be more at home in a small conference room setting.
On to is a simple PAL LCD monitor attached via a hinge so it can be tilted individually.
The only speaker is in the monitor and has a rather low volume.
Originally it comes without camera. I added a cheap chinese FPV camera. The supplied mounting bracket was taped on top of the monitor, which works very nicely.
The monitor runs on 12V DC, as does the main electronics. My unit came without a PSU.
There is no built in microphone, either.
Apart from the audio section including an LED VU meter, the user interface consists of an IR remote and on screen menus.
After removing the inner metal case we see two PCBs.
The upper one is apparently by 7e
while the lower one comes from Motionmedia.
