Alcatel Lucent 1643 AMS¶

This is a add/drop multiplexer that can add up to 16 E1-signals to/from a STM-1 multiplex.

Add/Drop multiplexers could be used to transport a variety of E1 lines over longer distance via fiber optic transceivers. Assuming a future CCC event at a large venue, one could connect multiple "points of presence" with a STM-1 backbone.
