TC1C can be regarded as the main chassis for a single logical unit of Nokia TCSM2. It holds the following components:
6
7
* One power supply module;
8
* One TRCO card;
9
* Up to 14 TR16 or TR12 transcoder cards.
10
11
The power supply module (goes into the slot farthest on the right) takes in -48 VDC and produces +5V and -5V for TR12/16 and TRCO cards. The backplane provides the following functions:
12
13
* Delivers power to all modules;
14
* Interconnects the transcoder card bus (4 PCM highways, control signals, microprocessor bus) between those transcoder cards and TRCO;
15
* Brings out interchassis signals from TRCO to the dedicated connector on its back face.
16
17
The external back face of TC1C backplane features connector S00 that is the interchassis interface. All signals on this connector come from TRCO card; the TC1C backplane merely connects them front to back. Signals in the upper half of S00 connect to ET modules in ET1TC chassis; signals in the lower half of this connector form an alarm bus (supposedly daisy-chained between multiple TC1C units in larger systems) that can be ignored in lab setups.
