i disassembled one ops 940nd which had some mechanical defects (2 of the screw-sockets are broken out)
from what i can tell http://pinouts.ru/CellularPhones-A-N/sagem_9xx_pinout.shtml this pinout comes close enough.
the pins are staggered in a up-down pattern on this device, and not in a linear row, but the numbers make sense. the one closest to the coax (1) is plus, the gnd os on pin6 or coax shield.
for daily fnord: this phone seems to be a completely different phone wrapped into 2 extra add-on boards (new keyboard/display pcb and backshell pcb to adapt different battery)

I've picked this up after quite some time. I can confirm the findings regarding the pinout / polarity for the charger.
Sadly, the batteries we have are not able to charge anymore. I've opened one of the battery packs and tried to carefully (with 50mA limit) apply charging directly to the Li-Ion cell (directly, without a protection circuit) - it doesn't draw a single milli-ampere.
Luckily there is a company offering commercial battery replacement service for this type of battery. I'll try that with two of the three batteries we have.

I have reversed the pin-out of the battery connectors. Providing 3.7V from a lab power supply on those pins makes all three of our OPS940 power up. With a stock sysmoISIM-SJA2 they (rightfully) complain that railway emergency calls are not permitted. There are plenty of GSM-R specific menus on the UI, registering for functional addressing and group calls. So it looks good in terms of using those for testing any upcoming related features in Osmocom CNI.
